Graphic designer and letterer Dana Tanamachi-Williams was at a Great-Gatsby-themed party when she picked up a piece of chalk and hand-lettered the word "Brooklyn" on her friend's chalkboard wall. Partygoers took notice, and a photo backdrop was born.
