The founders of THRIVE like to think of this event as a "photographer's roundtable". Thrive is a creative gathering for those who have established a photography businesses and want to spend a day with fellow photographers honing skills, being refreshed in their art, and ultimately building community together. We were glad to be among the sponsors for this Alexandria, Virginia kick-off event, providing copies of Trouvé Volume 01 for every attendee.

The concept for THRIVE began over a cup of joe, as many good ideas do. The women of Sweet Root Village and Alyssa of Alyssa Anne Photography sat sharing past struggles and future hopes for their businesses and art.

Reflecting their original vision and desire to grow, the time at this inaugural THRIVE event was spent giving and receiving personalized encouragement and critique as the photographers took time to go through each other's portfolios; addressing pressing questions and issues for growing a photography businesses. But most of all, value and encouragement was found in connecting, sharing good food, and getting to know each other to enable growth and creative thriving.

The entire day was infused with encouragement and the Thrive Team was so open and inclusive to us all. It didn’t feel like we were being taught by someone who knew all the answers, we were figuring out solutions together, combining our experience, achievements and failures in order to grow and help each other.
